The Oswego State softball team defeated Geneseo 5-2 in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday, and lost the second game 12-1 in five innings. The Lakers are now 10-13 overall and 6-8 in the SUNY Athletic Conference.

The Lakers got all five of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, started by a double from Rachael Eckhard. Sarah Castaldo and Britanee Eckhard had RBI hits in the rally. Michelle Jackson earned the win for the Lakers, pitching all seven innings and striking out four.

Oswego State scored five runs on just three hits in the game.

The Blue Knights scored 12 runs on 15 hits in a game shortened to five innings by the run rule. Jackson was the losing pither for the Lakers. Oswego State's run came in the first inning on when Rachael Eckhard stole home as part of a double steal, with Sarah Castaldo stealing second on the play.
