The Oswego State softball team won two games on Monday afternoon at Oneonta in SUNY Athletic Conference action. The Lakers won the first game 7-3 and the second game 2-0. Those victories gave the Lakers four wins in a row and five wins in their last six games.
Oswego State now stands at 14-13 overall and 10-8 in the SUNYAC. Oneonta is 19-13 overall and 10-6 in the conference. The Lakers host Nazareth in non-conference action on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
Oswego State 7, Oneonta 3
The Lakers trailed 3-0 after two innings, but scored the last seven runs of the game to get the opening-game victory. Oneonta committed nine errors in the contest, and Oswego State managed eight hits in the win. Rachael Eckhard had an RBI single in the third inning, and Oswego State added three runs each in the fifth and sixth innings. A big hit was delivered by Erin Armstrong with an RBI single up the middle to bring in the tying run. The Lakers scored three unearned runs in the sixth. Michelle Jackson was the winning pitcher.

Jackson pitched the complete-game shutout allowing just two hits as Oswego State completed the sweep. Jackson had seven strikeouts and just one walk in the game. Both Laker runs came in the top of the sixth, as Sarah Castaldo homered to centerfield, driving in Rachael Eckhard who singled earlier in the inning. Castaldo had three hits in the game, and ranks among the SUNYAC leaders in batting average, with a .462 average.
