BUFFALO, NY— Oswego shot held a 48-45 halftime advantage on 52.6 percent field-goal shooting (20-for-30) and 55.6 percent (five of nine) shooting from three point range, but host Buffalo State received career-best performance from the sophomore duo of Antonio Speed and Glenroy Carr as the Bengals (6-8, 4-3 SUNYAC) held the Lakers to 30 percent shooting from the floor while shooting 56.3 percent in the second half en route to a 92-85 victory in a SUNYAC matchup this afternoon at the Sports Arena.
Speed had career best with 23 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks, and Carr also had all career highs with 21 points, nine boards and four blocks. James Tyndal netted 18 points, and A.J. White and Jamar Gray added 10 points each.
Junior Stanley Francois (Valley College/Cobleskill) led the Lakers (8-5, 4-2 SUNYAC) with 27 points and 11 rebounds, posting his ninth "double-double" of the season. Connor Monaghan (Brooklyn/Xavier) scored 14 points. Tommy Downing (Staten Island/Curtis) had 12 points and 10 assists, Chad Burridge (Hannibal) scored 12 points and had eight blocks, and Kyle Reuter (Mexico) added 12 points.
