Dagel was on the receiving end of a sharp-angled cross by junior defender Eli Lubberts from out of the right corner. Lubberts made the play with a long up the right side. His pass to the opposite post brought Oswego State goalkeeper Matt Wopperer (Jr., Manlius, N.Y.) off his goal line. When Wopperer was unable to contain the ball, Dagel snuck into the opening and chipped the ball into the net.
Fredonia took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute on a goal by Ryan Smith, who was alone in the box to receive a cross from John Grabowski. The Lakers tied the game 1-1 in the 77th minute off a free kick. Fredonia received a yellow card for a hard tackle resulting in a free kick by Oswego State's Bryan Pacchiana (So., Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.). He lofted the ball from the left wing and senior Greg Blette (Lakeview, N.Y.) headed the ball over the reach of Blue Devil goalkeeper Thom Cavanaugh, who finished the afternoon with three saves. The Lakers' Wopperer also made three saves.
