The Oswego State volleyball team frustrated the St. John Fisher offense as five Lakers reached double-digit dig figures, but it would not be enough as Oswego State fell 3-0 (28-26, 25-18, 25-22) in Pittsford, N.Y. on Wednesday night.
Junior setter Liz Crouch (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) led the defensive effort with 15 digs to go along with 19 assists in the loss. Rachel Rossi (Jr., Waverly, N.Y.) finished the match with 11 digs, while Kelsey Ihle (Fr., Clarence Center, N.Y.), Jess Isgro (So., Brockport, N.Y.), and Shauna Westrack (Fr., Nesconset, N.Y.) each recorded 10.
No Oswego player reached double-figure kills as outside hitter Katie van Kessel (So., Millbrook, N.Y.) paced the offense with eight kills. The Lakers struggled from behind the service line as they committed ten serving errors with one ace.
Oswego State moved to 4-14 overall, while St. John Fisher improved to 8-11.
The Lakers face St. Lawrence and Clarkson on Saturday as part of the St. Lawrence Triangular beginning at 12 p.m.
