The Oswego State men's soccer team struggled to find its offense in a 5-0 loss Friday afternoon at nationally-ranked Brockport. The 15th-ranked Golden Eagles, who are the top ranked men's team from New York state, jumped on the Lakers early and never looked back. Oswego State dropped to 5-7-1 overall and 3-3 in the SUNYAC, and Brockport jumped to 9-1-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

Matt Wopperer at the top of the box and finished into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Five minutes before halftime, Steve Childs fed a pass to the far post where Bobby Ross converted the goal for a 2-0 halftime lead.
Brockport continued where it left off in the first half as they added another marker just two minutes out of halftime. Nick Stensel crossed to the far post where Ross added his sixth goal of the season. Five minutes later Stensel fed another cross into the box where Doug DiSanti slid it into the back of the net. The Golden Eagles added their fifth score of the game in the 81st minute when Joe Ianni took off on a breakaway, finishing to the far post past substituted Laker goalkeeper #P.J. Goodwin#.
The Lakers used three netminders in the game as
Marcus LaRobardiere saw 10 minutes of playing time in relief of Wopperer and Goodwin. Wopperer finished with six saves in net for Oswego State. Joe Marino and Kyle Sauln combined to make five saves in net for Brockport in the shutout win.
The Lakers continue their roadtrip Saturday with a 1 p.m. start against Geneseo.
