Game 1 Box Score
Game 2 Box Score

The Oswego State softball bats struggled to come alive against Buffalo State's pitching as the Lakers fell to the Bengals 9-0 and 6-0 on a chilly Saturday afternoon in Buffalo. Oswego State recorded six hits in each contest, but left 12 baserunners stranded in both games. The Lakers dropped to 3-21 overall and 0-10 in league play, while Buffalo State improved to 15-15 overall and 6-6 in the SUNYAC.

A pair of four innings doomed Oswego State in game one as the Lakers fell in five innings.  The Bengals capitalized on an Oswego State miscue to get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first and added four more runs on five hits, including a two-out, two-RBI double by Kyrstin Lekki, in the second.

Buffalo State tacked on four runs in the bottom half of the fourth following four base hits and two defensive errors to take a 9-0 lead.  Sue Schoff (Fr., Little Falls, N.Y.) reached to start the fifth after a Bengal mistake and later stole second to move into scoring position.  However, the Lakers were unable to move her around to the bases and across home plate to end the game.  Sarah Thayer (Fr., Winthrop, N.Y.) received the loss after allowing five runs in three innings, while Halie Bloom (Fr., Commack, N.Y.) pitched one inning, giving up four runs.

The Oswego State offense did not fare much better in the second game of the twinbill, as Shannon Baker (So., Hannibal, N.Y.) was the lone Laker to record multiple hits after going 2-for-3.  Buffalo State tallied runs in the first, second, fourth, and fifth innings without a single extra-base hit for the victory, as Breanna Fenski drove in three of the Bengals' six runs.  Marie Steding (Fr., Central Square, N.Y.) picked up the loss working six innings and allowing six runs on ten hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

Oswego State will play a rescheduled doubleheader at Fredonia beginning at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
