RESULTSBROCKPORT, N.Y. – The visiting Oswego State men's swimming and diving team trumped Brockport in a 158-140 meet on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Oswego improves to 3-3 on the season while Brockport falls to 0-4.
The Lakers swam well in the early goings, finishing in three of the top four spots in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Sophomore
James Dillon claimed second place with a final time of 10:55.62. Teammates
Ross Gardner and
Sam Carwile ended the event with third and fourth place finishes, respectively.
Individually, Oswego dominated the butterfly and breaststroke events. Sophomore
Jacob Mullett earned first-place finishes in the 100- and 200-yard breastroke events, tallying 22 points in just the two events for Oswego. Classmate
Sanjay Raman led the Lakers to a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, providing Oswego with another 11 points.
Sophomore diver
Ben Hale had a notable performance, scoring 247.70 points in the three-meter diving event. The Ballston Lake native would lead fellow divers
Justin Berrios and
Luke Snyder to three of the top-four point totals in the event. Berrios was scored a 227.25, good for second place, while Snyder claimed fourth and a final score of 185.70
The men's swimming and diving program will take a short hiatus before traveling to Rochester for the Monroe Community College Invite on Friday, Dec. 5. Events start at 6 p.m.
