Clermont, FL – The Oswego State women's softball team dropped the first game of a doubleheader to Bates College 8-4 today. With the loss, Oswego falls to 1-2 while Bates improves to 2-3.
Oswego got off to good start in the first as
Alexis Nasca doubled home
Deanna Apps to stake Oswego to a 1-0 lead.
Oswego would extend the lead to 3-0 in the second as Justice Abramowski singled in
Jessie Terrano and a sacrifice fly by
Sammie Schroeter would plate
Melissa Mulvaney. Oswego would record three hits and two steals in the inning.
Bates would come back in the third and fourth, tagging both Terrano and
Alexandria Connelly for three runs each on nine total hits to go up 6-3. They would add insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth.
Abramowski would walk in the top of the seventh and be sacrificed to second by
Katie Bredin. Schroeter would single in Abramowski to score Oswego's final run.

Oswego dropped to Western Connecticut State later that afternoon by a score of 5-2 to fall to 1-3 on the season. Nasca would take the loss while going the distance and only allowing one earned run.
At the plate, Alex McKay had two RBI's for the Lakers.
