Southern Maine Box Score

Clermont, FL – The Oswego State softball team got back on track Sunday with two dominating 8-0 wins, defeating Macalester from the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and Southern Maine of the Little East Conference.    With the wins, Oswego evens its record at 3-3 while Macalester falls to 5-2 and Southern Maine to 0-4.

In the first game against Macalester, for the fourth time this year, Oswego scored in the opening frame.  After a Katie Bredin groundout, both Jessie Terrano and Deanna Apps walked.  Alexis Nasca grounded out to advance both runners and Ashley Lyman followed with an RBI single to plate Terrano.

The score remained 1-0 until the third when Oswego exploded for six runs.  Terrano kicked things off with a double and things snowballed from there.  Lyman, Dana Taglioni, Jacquie Porreca, and Katie Bredin would all single around a Sammie Schroeter walk and record RBI's.

Oswego would add the eighth run in the top of the fourth as Terrano reached on a single and was advanced by an Apps groundout.  Nasca would connect for her only hit of the game, an RBI double to seal the game.

Alexandria Connelly got the win as she went the distance, recording two strikeouts and only allowing two hits.

In the second game of the day, Oswego would score two runs in each of the first four innings to lock up the win over Southern Maine.  Nasca and Katie Heselden would combine to hold the Huskies to only four hits and no runs.

At the plate, Schroeter and Taglioni led the way with three hits and two RBI's each.  Nasca and Justine Abramowski chipped in with two hits apiece to help Oswego get a total of thirteen hits in the game.

The Lakers are back in action on Monday as they take on Washington & Jefferson (2-2) of the President's Athletic Conference at 3pm and Worcester State (1-1) from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference at 7pm.
