Clermont, Fla. – The Oswego State softball team took Anderson University to the brink on its final day of a spring break trip, eventually falling 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, the Lakers will return to campus with a 3-4 mark before opening SUNYAC competition with Potsdam and Plattsburgh at home next weekend.
After three scoreless innings, Oswego scored first when
Alexis Nasca drove in
Deanna Apps. Apps finished the day 3-for-3 at the plate with the run scored. Along with Nasca and Apps,
Sammie Schroeter and
Alexandra McKay each had hits, finishing with one apiece. McKay was the only player in the game with an extra-base hit, driving a double for her one hit.
Nasca also started on the mound and pitched six solid innings, scattering seven hits while allowing just two earned runs. Unfortunately, an error in the sixth inning gave Anderson the ability to put six runs on the board, securing the victory.
Alexandria Connelly came in to close out the sixth, surrendering two hits and two runs, both of which were unearned.
