Oswego, N.Y. – The Oswego State wr­­estling team split in the NY/PA Duals on Saturday afternoon in Oswego. The squad fell to Lycoming College in its first dual 29-7. The Lakers rallied back in their second dual though, defeating Kings College 29-12. In going 1-1 this weekend, Oswego moves to an overall record of 1-2 on the season.

In the Lycoming dual, Abubakarr Sow earned Oswego's first three points winning by a 6-2 decision at the 157 weight class. Senior Scott Bova collected the Laker's other four points winning by major decision (12-2) at 184-pounds.

During the dual with Kings College, the Laker's first points came in the 141-pound division, when Quamaine Thomas won by major decision (16-7) earning Oswego four points. The squad took that momentum and was able to earn points in the following six matches. Mark Milisci battled hard at the 149-pound weight class edging his opponent 9-8 in a sudden victory. Sow improved his day's record to 2-0 with a win by major decision as well as Bova who won by forfeit. Also nabbing points for Oswego were Tyler Silverthorn (winning by 11-5 decision), Timothy Scalissi (win by fall at 4:30) and Joe Gorsuch (win by 3-2 decision).

Wrestling returns to the mats when on Friday, Jan. 9 when the team travels to Williamsport Pa. for the Budd Whitehill DIII Duals.
