REUSLTSOSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's swimming and diving team defeated Potsdam 160-117 on senior day this Saturday afternoon at Laker Pool. The Lakers move to 3-7 on the year, while the Potsdam Bears drop to 2-2-1 overall.
The Lakers got off to a quick start as
Natalie Brophy,
Emily Karszes,
Sabia Filiaci and
Emily Doe combined to win the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:58.25. Filiaci continued to swim well in her last meet at home as she placed first in the 200-yard fly, clocking in at 2:21.70. Doe dominated the freestyle events, taking top spots in the 50 and 100-yard races, while Brophy controlled the backstroke races, nabbed up first place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard contests.
Emily Burton scooped up a couple first place finishes as well, in both the 1000 and 500-yard free.
Kathryn McKinney capped her senior day posting a score of 183.15 in the 1-meter dive, good enough for first place.
Women's swimming and diving will close out its regular season at noon on Saturday, where it will compete in the Geneseo Invite.
