BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's soccer team fell 2-1 to Buffalo State after a late goal by the host Bengals on Saturday evening. With the loss, the Lakers go to 4-7-1 overall and 1-5 in SUNYAC tilts while Buffalo State improves to 9-3-2, 3-1-1.
Trailing 1-0 at the break, Oswego came out focused on tying the contest, attaining its objective just 2:14 into the second half. Sophomore

Bernard Osei corralled the rebound and found the back of the net to knot the game at 1-1.
Oswego and Buffalo State remained in a stalemate for the next 35 minutes before a foul in the box gave way to a Bengal penalty kick. Bengal Luke Pavone took the attempt and was successful for his 10th goal of the year at 82:23. The Lakers fought for an equalizer, taking two shots and a corner in the final six minutes but were unable to force extra time.
Statistically, the two teams were nearly identical on the day, with Oswego and Buffalo State both taking six shots-on-goal and six corner kicks. Oswego held a slight advantage in overall shot attempts, trying two more than the Bengals (14-12).

Todd Lawson played all 90 minutes in net, making four saves over that duration.
Oswego will return home for its next game as it hosts Geneseo at 3 p.m. on Friday. The squad will be wearing pink uniforms for the contest to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
