RESULTSALFRED, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's swimming and diving team earned its fourth-straight victory with a convincing 102-36 win over the host Pioneers of Alfred State on Friday afternoon. With the triumph, the Lakers are now 4-1 on the year.
Oswego had five different swimmers claim first place on Friday, paced by
Riley Synan's two wins. The freshman started her meet with a 1000-yard freestyle victory in 11:58.02 before capturing the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:20.72.
Sophomore
Emily Burton got in on the action with a first-place showing in the 200-yard freestyle (2:11.92). Freshman
Hannah Jensen then joined the group with a 50-yard freestyle win in just 26-seconds flat. Classmate
Megan Kowalski was next in the 200-yard IM, touching the wall in 2:31.14 for the win.
Senior
Emily Doe would not be outdone by the underclassmen as she too took first, her's coming in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.67.
The Lakers' first win of the night came in a relay, however, as Doe teamed with
Emily Karszes,
Natalie Brophy and Abigial Mullet in the 200-yard medley relay. The quartet cruised to victory, holding a time of 2:02.88, more than eight seconds quicker than their opponent.
Oswego will have a week to prepare for Brockport, as the Golden Eagles come to Laker Pool at 1 p.m. next Saturday.
