RESULTSOSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's swimming and diving team continued its win streak, which now sits at five, with a 174-105 victory over Brockport in Laker Pool on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Lakers go to 5-1 on the season while the Golden Eagles falter to 1-3.
In all, Oswego recorded the top time – or score – in 14 of a possible 16 events during Saturday's meet. The day started with a more than four-second win for the 200-yard medley relay group of
Devon Foster, Jacob Mullet,
Sanjay Raman and anchor
Austin Nau (1:43.03).
James Dillon kept the Lakers winning ways with a top finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, beating his next closest competitor by more than 20 seconds (10:58.62). He followed that up with another victory, this time in the 200-yard free, edging out teammate Alex Kemper by .32 (1:57.91).
The 200-yard medley teammates of Foster and Mullet went 1-2 in the 100-yard backstroke, respectively before
Dylan Tiefenthaler earned a win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.52).
Next to take an event was
Jay Choi, winning the 200-yard fly with a time of 2:12.65. Nau then checked off a few more boxes in the win column with a time of 21.89 in the 50-yard free and 50.42 in the 100-yard free.
Foster claimed another triumph in the 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 2:09.44. Mullet then secured the 200-yard breaststroke by almost exactly 10 seconds. Dillon and Raman picked up the final two wins for Oswego in the 500-yard free and 100-yard fly, respectively.
Despite being counted as exhibitions, Nau had the top time in the 100-yard IM (57.94) while Raman, Tiefenthaler, Kemper and Dillon had the fastest relay in the 200-yard free (1:36.10).
Oswego will return to action for the Hamilton College Invitational, a two-day meet, beginning on Friday, Dec. 4.
