OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Myles Kutscher's two game-winning home runs helped Oswego defeat Fredonia, 3-1 and 12-11, in Saturday's senior day doubleheader. Oswego improves to 14-2 in the conference and 23-6 overall with the wins.
Game One: Oswego 3, Fredonia 1 (7 inn.)
In the bottom of the sixth with Zach Kollar and Dan Saccocio on second and third respectively, Kutscher crushed a three-run home run over the left-center field fence to give the Lakers a 3-1 lead.
Saccocio walked for the second time in the game to start off the inning before Brian Hamilton singled. Kollar replaced Hamilton as a pinch runner and scored a run.
Four other Lakers, Jordan Giller, John Rauseo, Kyle Liner and Kyle Simmons, recorded hits on the afternoon.
Miles Kelly pitched well in a bounce back effort earning his fifth win of the season. The junior went six innings surrendering just one run and striking out two.
Mickey Putillo struck out two of the three batters he faced out of the bullpen to earn his fifth save of the season.
Game Two: Oswego 12, Fredonia 11 (9 inn.)
It's GONE! In true walk off fashion, Myles Kutscher smashed a ball well over the centerfield fence to drive in Eric Hamilton to win the game for Oswego.
Robert Donnelly's 2-RBI double to centerfield in the eighth inning cut the Fredonia lead to one, 11-10. The freshman smacked a ball over the outfielder's head to drive in John Barnes and Kutscher; he finished 2-for-4.
The Lakers got on the board early, batting around the order and bringing in five runs in the first inning. Giller, who scored three runs in the contest, notched an RBI single. Saccocio recorded two hits in the second game and had an RBI single in the first while Brian Hamilton had an RBI double.
In the third inning, Wes Randall poked an RBI single into left field to drive in Simmons. Kollar followed that up with an RBI groundout in the next frame and Eric Hamilton added an RBI base knock in the seventh to stretch the Laker lead.
Six of eight starters recorded a hit in the contest as Oswego tallied 17 hits in the game. Brian Hamilton went 4-for-5 on the day with two RBI and a run scored.
Cody LaFlamme and Andy Stuart both pitched well out of the bullpen for the Lakers. Stuart struck out one and allowed no runs in the eighth. LaFlamme set the side down in order in the ninth to earn his first win of the season.
Oswego will return Tuesday for a doubleheader against No. 1 Cortland beginning at noon.
