The women's volleyball team wrapped up the final day of the Oswego State Volleyball Tournament with two more victories, bringing its overall season record to 10-4. Oswego ended the tournament with a 4-0 record, dropping just a single set the entire two days.
In the first match of the day, the squad defeated Hartwick College in four sets (25-15, 25-9, 24-26, 27-25). The team found itself down 24-19 in the fourth set before junior
Kim Cassa went on a five-point service run to extend the set, which the Lakers would eventually take.
Oswego accumulated an impressive 56 kills in the match, led by senior right side hitter
Kelsey Dillon who had 13 kills overall. Eight other players registered kills for the Lakers, including
Megan Russell who added to her impressive tournament performance by recording 12 kills.
The two Oswego setters combined for 46 assists during the match, with
Lauren Edwards pacing the way with 27. Edwards also added seven digs to her game totals.
Megan Russell recorded five block assists during the match, contributing to the team total of nine. Russell's final block was the game winner in the deciding fourth set, giving the Lakers their eighth win of the season.

Oswego continued to roll in their second match of the day, defeating SUNY Canton in straight sets (25-17, 25-18, 25-22), the first victory over Canton in head coach JJ O'Connell's tenure at Oswego State.
Seven players combined for 38 kills in the match, with freshman standout
Ariel Murawski leading the way with ten. Murawski also added two block assists and a solo block to her game stats.
Setter
Lindsey Champitto had twelve assists in the game, bringing her tournament total to 58. The junior also had 15 digs and 10 service aces in the tournament, earning herself a spot on the All-Tournament team.
Megan Russell continued to light it up from the middle in this match, recording six kills to add to her team-high tournament total of 38. The junior also contributed 10 block assists, five digs, and a solo block. Her  performance was a key factor in her teams overall best record for the tournament, and earned her the honor of Oswego State Tournament Most Valuable Player.
Oswego will take the court next at 4 p.m. on Tuesday when they travel to Potsdam to begin SUNYAC play against the Bears.
