RESULTS
OSWEGO, N.Y. — The Oswego State men's swimming and diving team opened the 2017-18 season with a win over the Rochester Institute of Technology on Wednesday, while the women fell to the Tigers. After 26 events, the men won 122-119 while the women lost 153-90.
Oswego opened up the evening with a win in the men's 200-yard medley relay. The underclassmen led the way, with freshmen Luis Perez, Santiago Alaniz, Walker Snowden and sophomore Ryan Kreuser claiming the top spot with a time of 1:40.27. Sophomore Daniel Rodriguez, coming off of an impressive first season with the Lakers, took first in both the 500-yard free and 1000-yard free.
It was the juniors leading the way for the Oswego women. Hannah Jensen earned the women's first first-place finish of the night, with a time of 25.81 in the 50-yard free. Classmate Riley Synan clinched another win for the Lakers in the 100-yard fly, with a time of 1:01.14.
The Oswego women also had success in the 1-meter diving. Megan Maquet easily took first with a score of 203.90, while teammate Miranda Frascatore claimed the second place spot with a score of 188.85 in her first meet as a Laker.
Oswego returns to the pool on Saturday when it hosts Oneonta at 1 p.m.
