POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's swimming and diving team earned its third-straight victory 176-98 at Clarkson University on Saturday afternoon. After dropping its first dual meet of the year, the Lakers are now 3-1 on the season while the Golden Knights fall to 0-2.
Oswego's 200-meter medley relay started the day off in grand fashion, scoring a more than 13-second victory for 11 team points.
Kayla Merrill led off, followed by
Merima Kulosman and
Riley Synan before
Hannah Jensen closed the final led for a time of 2:12.35.
Synan continued her winnings ways with three individual victories, starting in the very next event. The 800-meter free went to the junior, clocking a 10:13.20, more than a minute faster than the runner-up. She went on to win the 100-meter free by less than a second (1:04.17) before scoring another nine points with a 3-tenths-of-a-second win in the 200-meter IM.
In the ninth event of the afternoon, Kulosman picked up nine points for Oswego as well, grabbing the top spot in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:25.32). One event later,
Lok Chi Hon touched the wall in 2:44.12 to finish first in the 200-meter butterfly. Jensen (28.85),
Kelsey Oliverio (31.24) and Brittney Colon (31.26) went 1-2-3 in the 50-meter free, combining for 16 Laker points in event 13.
Later in the meet, Kulosman picked up her second victory of the day, 200-meter version of her previous event win (3:03.66). Oswego's final win in the pool came from
Samantha Dolan in the 400-meter free, clocking a 6.36 faster time than the closest Clarkson swimmer.
On the diving boards,
Miranda Frascatore and Megan Maquet swapped spots between the 1- and 3-meter events. Frascatore collected the win in the former with 193.75 points scored while Maquet gained revenge with a win in the latter (185.15).
Oswego will close its three-meet road trip with a 1 p.m. battle at Alfred State on Saturday.
