Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Lakers Score Early and Often in Victory at Keuka

KEUKA, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's lacrosse team scored the game's first six goals en route to an 11-5 victory at Keuka College on Saturday afternoon. Oswego picked up its third victory of the year to move to 3-4 while the Wolves drop to 2-3.

Kyle Bacon jump started the Lakers off hot, early and often, tallying three of the Lakers' four, first quarter goals. The freshman earned the contest's first two scores during the seventh and third minutes. His first was assisted by Tyler Nason and the second had help from Zach Anderson. Nason scored Oswego's third of the game before Bacon notched his third with just one second left in the opening period.

In the second quarter, Jarrod Wilkom put up a four-point period with a goal and three assists. Wilkom aided Anderson on one goal, Bobby Emerson on two and scored his 11th of the year to open the second.

Oswego only managed one goal in the third period, coming from freshman Caleb Alford unassisted at 5:17. The Lakers ended the game outscoring Keuka 2-1 in the fourth, accounting for the tilt's final two scores. Tim Schof scored his eighth of the year from Bacon at 8:58 before Emerson scored his third of the game from Bacon a little more than a minute later.

As a team, the Lakers dominated the Wolves in shots (31-12), ground balls (40-29) and caused turnovers (16-10). Wilkom and Teddy Phillips led the way with six ground balls while Ben Roberts had five. Robert paced the squad in forcing turnovers along with Joe Noce, each stealing the ball from Keuka three times.

In net, senior Wyatt Russo stopped seven Wolves attempts to earn his second triumph of the year.

Oswego returns to the field at 4 p.m. on Wednesday when it travels to Utica College to face the Pioneers in a nonconference bout.
