OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season against St. Lawrence University on Friday at Laker Turf Stadium. With the loss, Oswego moves to 4-1-1 while St. Lawrence moves to 2-2-1.
Fifteen minutes into the game, the Lakers' goaltender made a play on the ball in a one-on-one situation that the referee deemed worthy of a red card. St. Lawrence cashed in on their penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead.
The Lakers kept the Saints from scoring again until the 64
th minute when Brendan McNamee scored from the six-yard box.
Oswego had seven shots during the game, and goalies
Evan Bogucki (1) and
Brian Terra (5) combined for six saves.
On Saturday, the Lakers travel to Morrisville State College to face the Mustangs at 4 p.m.
