LYCOMING, Pa. – The Oswego State wrestling team finished in eighth place out of sixteen teams at the Budd Whitehill Duals.  In Day 2 action, the Lakers fell to the Pride of Springfield College, 22-20, in a wild back-and-forth matchup.  With the defeat, the team's record moves to 4-4 on the season.

Springfield got out to an early 7-0 lead as Joel Zambrano of the Pride won a close decision (3-0) over Oswego's Jack DelDuca at 125 and Ian Tolotti took down Evan Corso of the Lakers in a major decision (10-2).

The Lakers would close back to 7-6 on decisions by Justin DeLucia (4-3 over Derek Bohle) at 141 and Rocco Russo (12-10 over Roger Moyer) at 149.  At 157, Joey Bush would wrestle well, but narrowly drop a decision to Springfield's Kearney Gutierrez by a 6-4 score.  Oswego would grab their first lead of the dual with an 18-3 technical fall by Alex Herringshaw at 165 that gave the squad an 11-10 advantage.

The Pride's Ryan Harty would put Springfield back up 16-11 with a fall (7:58) over Oswego's Michael Southwick at 174.  Oswego would score points in the next two weight classes as Troy Seymour scored a major decision at 184 over Ryan Gray and Jeff Lombardi won by fall (2:20) at 197 over George Tarwo of the Pride.

Springfield would come from behind with a fall at the heavyweight class as Joe Fusco defeated Kade Andrews at the 2:13 mark.

Herringshaw was named to the All-Tournament team with his performance at 165.

The wrestling team is back in action this Wednesday at home as they take on Brockport in a dual match.  The action will kick off at 7 p.m. in the Max Ziel Gymnasium.
