Swimming and Diving Triumphs Over Brockport

OSWEGO, N.Y. - The men's and women's swimming and diving teams were both victorious against the College of Brockport on Saturday afternoon at the Laker Pool.  The men cruised to a 189-99 triumph while the women won by a score of 146-121.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Laker men won fifteen of the sixteen events with junior Alex Davie involved in four victories.
  • Sophomore Walker Snowden, juniors Luis Perez and Nick Weber, and freshman Nate Einstein each contributed to three event wins.  Individually, Snowden won the 100-yard fly (54.39), Perez took the 100-yard (55.63) and 200-yard backstroke (2:01.65) events, while Weber won the 200-yard (1:48.53) and 500-yard freestyle (5:02.64).  Einstein took top honors in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.75), 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.22) and the 200-yard Individual Medley (2:08.28).
  • On the diving boards, freshman Cameron Ellis won the 3-meter event with a score of 274.85 and took second in the 1-meter event (252.60).
  • Other event winners for the Lakers were Nate McBurney in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:35.92) and Joseph Weinhofer in the 200-yard fly (2:04.55).
  • For the women, seniors Hannah Jensen and Riley Synan were both involved in three event wins as the Lakers depth proved to be the deciding factor.
  • Jensen scored victories in the 50-yard freestyle (25.92) and 100-yard freestyle (57.33) while Synan was tops in the 200-yard fly (2:18.88) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:48.36).  Both were part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team along with junior Kelsey Oliverio and freshman Eva Potvin.
  • Potvin was tops in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.88) and classmate Grace Parente took first in the 100-yard fly (1:04.82).
  • Senior Abigail Mullett won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:47.08.
WHAT'S NEXT

Both teams are off for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to the pool at the Hamilton Invite on November 30 and December 1.
