HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 match to Houghton College on Monday afternoon. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 2-3 on the year while the Highlanders improve to 3-3.
 
In singles competition, Jimmy Terzian had the best opportunity at fourth singles. The senior kept it close through the first set, eventually falling by a break, 7-5. In the second set, Terzian was able to grab three games before succumbing, 6-3, to his Houghton opponent.
 
On the doubles circuit, each of the Lakers' three pairings were able to take games but not the match. The duo of Chris Gayvert and Brian Emigholz battled to an 8-4 defeat while the teams of Nick Retzkin, Jon Matros and Terzian, Tyler Buxbaum each won two games.
 
Oswego will have the rest of the week off and will return to the courts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 7 for a tri-match at Oneonta. The Lakers will face the Red Dragons first and then compete against Farmingdale State at 4 p.m.
