HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego got off to a great start with a goal in the first minute by freshman Morgan Shines on assists from Annika Neufeld-Kreider and Stewart.
- Buffalo State answered halfway through the period on a goal by Natasha Steinle. Steinle had a hat trick in her last outing against Canton.
- The score stayed 1-1 heading into the second period when Thomas scored both her goals.
- Thomas' first goal came on assists from Kate Randazzo and Bailey Thomas who got her the puck just inside the blue line for a slap shot to the far post.
- On the second goal of the period, Philomena Teggart swung the puck down low to Stewart who centered it out front to Thomas who slammed it past the Bengal goalie.
- In the third period, Teggart got in on the action when she took a pass out high on the power play, took a quick step forward and hammered a shot home from distance at 7:21.
- It was her third goal of the season and was assisted by Randazzo and Thomas.
- Exactly five minutes later, Thomas and Stewart sent the puck over to Randazzo who sent it to net. It took a deflection off a Buffalo State defender and into goal.
- The final Laker goal was scored thirty seconds later when freshman Megan Teachout collected a pass out front and shot it in for the goal.
- Stewart nabbed her fourth assist of the night to tie the program record for most assists in a game held by Randazzo.
- Thomas added her record-tying point with the other assist of Teachout's goal in only her fifth game as a Laker.
- Buffalo State broke the five-goal run with five minutes left in the contest on a goal to the far post, but could not get any closer.
- Senior Rachael Farmer made 26 saves on the night to pick up the win in goal.
- Oswego won the shooting battle (53-28) and freshman Mia Conboy won 11-of-14 faceoffs to pace the Lakers to a 44-28 advantage.
