BUFFALO, N.Y. - Sophomore forward
Travis Broughman netted a pair of goals as the No. 12 Oswego State men's ice hockey team pitched their second consecutive shutout with a 5-0 victory over Buffalo State. Broughman continues to lead the team in both goals (7) and points (12) on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams were scoreless after the first period as the Lakers killed off two penalties during the period.
- After a slashing call on the Bengals, senior captain Josh Zizek scored the eventual game-winner on assists from Colton Fletcher and Carson Vance.
- The goal was Zizek's third and the team's eighth power play goal of the season.
- A little over three minutes later, Vance gave the Lakers some breathing room with his second of the season.
- Tyler Antonucci and Tyson Kirkby earned assists on the goal, with the assist the first of Antonucci's career.
- Oswego had two more power play opportunities and kept the pressure on Buffalo State in taking the 2-0 lead into the third period.
- Broughman scored his first on a 2-on-1 opportunity at 4:20 of the third period with assists from Michael Gillespie and Max Novick.
- Both teams had man-advantages over the next ten minutes with senior David Richer making a flurry of saves with traffic in front on the second Buffalo State opportunity to keep the Bengals off the scoreboard.
- With just over five minutes remaining and after a power play opportunity had ended for Oswego, Tyler Currie found Broughman in the left slot for the one-timer past the Bengal goalie.
- Senior Anthony Passero recorded the secondary assist on the goal.
- Less than a minute later senior Joseph Molinaro found the puck in front of the net after a scramble and tapped it home for the final goal.
- Currie and Kirkby notched their second points of the contest on that goal.
- Richer made 21 saves as the Lakers out-shot the Bengals 36-21.
- Oswego won the faceoff battle 39-25 with Zizek winning 14 and senior Mitch Emerson securing 12 in leading the Lakers.

The Lakers head to Fredonia for a 7 p.m. contest before returning home after the break for the Pathfinder Bank/Oswego State Classic on Jan 3.
