UTICA, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's lacrosse team moved to 5-1 on the season with its 9-5 non-conference victory at Utica College on Wednesday evening. After gaining control of the game on a
Nathan Schultzkie goal in the second quarter, the Lakers never looked back.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior Tim Schof put the Lakers on the board early, with his game-opening unassisted tally at 13:53, his fifth of the season.
- The Pioneers would answer with three goals, giving themselves a 3-1 lead with 3:06 remaining in the opening quarter.
- The Lakers were able to cut the goal deficit to one less than a minute later as Oswego's second tally came off the stick of Evan Hollfelder at 2:08.
- Dan Doolan was quick to knot the game at 3-3, as he opened the second quarter with an unassisted tally.
- Utica owned its last lead of the contest after scoring with 12:40 remaining in the first half before Bobby Emerson tied it at four on the extra-man opportunity. Emerson's goal was assisted by Schof with 7:26 remaining in the second quarter.
- Oswego took the lead, one it would not relinquish, as Schultzkie scored with under four minutes left in the second stanza, assisted by John Condon.
- Hollfelder extended the Laker lead in the first minute of the second half, with his second goal of the day coming on another man-up opportunity, helped along by Weston Gray.
- Doolan then pushed the lead to 8-4 with a pair of goals, completing his hat trick, the first goal coming on a man-down situation. Both of the junior's tallies were unassisted.
- The Lakers' final goal of the game was notched by Emerson, as he once again found a pass from Schof, for his 17th goal of the season.
- In a last ditch attempt, the Pioneers cut the lead to four goals at 2:22 of the fourth, after Oswego held them at just four goals through the majority of the second and third quarters.
- In goal, Kevin O'Donnell made six saves, collecting a team-high eight ground balls in the process.
- Kyle O'Connor took all 16 faceoffs for the Lakers, winning eight of those chances.
- Oswego held dominating advantages in shots (55-24) and shots on-goal (27-11), while also being efficient on the extra-man opportunity (2-for-4).

The Lakers remain on the road as they travel to St. Lawrence University for a 3 p.m. matchup on Saturday.
