HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first game - a seven-inning affair - Oswego posted a pair of runs in each of the last three innings to claim the victory.
- The Lakers loaded the bases with a single, a walk and a hit batsman in the fifth before Ryan Enos singled in two runs.
- In the sixth, Brandon Nicholson ripped a one-out double to left center and scored on an error after a Nick Chilson pinch-hit single to the pitcher moved him to third. Two batters later, Rocco Leone notched a double of his own, scoring Chilson.
- The doubles continued in the final frame, as Enos led off with a two-bagger and then stole third following two Laker fly outs. Nicholson drove in Enos with a single before stealing second. Matt Deblasio then singled to plate Nicholson for the final Oswego run.
- Matt Bowman threw a complete-game shutout with five strikeouts to move to 2-1 on the year and reduce his earned-run average to below 2.00 (1.96). Bowman settled in after working through a bases-loaded jam in the first frame.
- In the nightcap, after Oswego jumped out to a 4-0 lead, New Paltz cut its deficit to two in the third inning. Oswego then responded with four-run at-bats in the fifth and ninth innings to collect the 10-run triumph.
- Nine different Lakers recorded hits in the tilt, led by Paul Tammaro, Jake Walsh and Nicholson's two apiece. Nicholson and Walsh each had two RBI and a double while the former crossed the plate three times. Tammaro scored twice as well.
- Enos, Lukas Olsson, Casey Gruarin, Jonathan Luppens, Ryan Weiss and Frank Levanti each had a hit.
- Southpaw Brian Nolan earned the victory to go to 3-1 on the year. The senior threw 6.0 innings, scattering four hits while fanning five.
- Jake Jacobs, Bobby Zywicki and Ronald Loomis threw an inning apiece in relief, combining for three hitless and scoreless frames.
