Shattuck and Laneve Reach Career Milestones in Win

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Teresa Shattuck breaking a program record highlighted the Oswego State women's lacrosse team's 18-1 defeat of Buffalo State on Wednesday afternoon. Classmate Toni Laneve also joined Shattuck in the program's history books.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Just 1:11 into the opening half, Shattuck recorded her 47th assist of the season on Laneve's goal to break the program's all-time career points record (304), a mark that stood for 16 years. The attacker finished the day with a team-high six points for a career-total of 310 points.
  • Laneve joined the 100-point club, with her total five goals in the contest. The history making 100th tally came with 25:10 remaining in the second half, helped along by Kamryn Sherman.
  • Joining the seniors with multiple points on the day were Molly Beck and Brigid Regin who both posted four points on three goals and an assist.
  • Sherman, Kassidy Myers and Montana Garrett also owned two or more points, with Garrett leading the way with three points.
  • Mckenna Chesbro and Riley LaCava tallied a point apiece, as LaCava assisted on the freshman's goal to close out the contest with 8:03 remaining on the game clock.
  • Goalie Elianna Sanchez earned her seventh victory of the season, making two saves during 51:37 in goal. Paige Noel came in to close the game out for the Lakers, also recording two saves.
  • Oswego was dominant in all categories, owning advantages in shots and shots on-goal (26-12, 25-5), ground balls (11-7) and draw controls (14-6).
  • One goal is the fewest a Buffalo State team has scored since Brockport and Oswego held the Bengals to one goal in back-to-back games in April of 2002.

The Lakers return to action at 3 p.m. on Saturday as they host the Oneonta Red Dragons for another SUNYAC matchup.
