HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- In the third inning, the Lakers got rolling. With two outs and the bases-loaded, Nick Chilson notched a two-RBI single. Casey Gruarin and Paul Tamarro added RBI singles as well, extending the Laker lead to 5-0.
- Ryan Weiss's RBI base knock, followed by Frank Levanti's RBI sac-fly had Oswego up 7-0 in the fifth inning.
- The Lakers answered Fredonia's first runs of the game with four runs of their own in the sixth, highlighted by Matt DeBlasio's two-run double off the top of the wall in left center.
- Chilson, Gruarin, Weiss and Tammaro each finished with two hits. Jake Walsh and Justin Troelstra both contributed with an RBI.
- Starting on the bump, Brian Nolan struck out eight Fredonia batters in five scoreless innings pitched.
- Anthony Van Fossen and Nick Antonello closed out the final two innings on the mound for Oswego.
Game 2
- Trailing 3-1 in the seventh frame, Oswego rallied to take its first lead of the game. Gruarin's two-RBI single tied it at 3-3, with Weiss knocking in two runners in the very next at-bat to give Oswego its first lead, 5-3.
- In the eighth inning, the Lakers added some insurance. Mike Dellicarri recorded an RBI single and the frame was capped by a sacrifice fly from Nicholson to push the advantage to 7-3.
- Jake Terrill started on the mound for Oswego, striking out six batters in 4.1 innings pitched, only allowing two runs.
