For the first time, the NCAA Division III Championship has moved to a regional and super regional format before the eight-team World Series. The winner of the Southern Maine Regional will face the winner of the UMass-Boston Regional, which includes the host, Baruch College, Wheaton College (Mass.) and St. Joseph's College (Me.), in a super regional best-of-three series on May 24-25.
Super regional winners will play the familiar World Series format of double-elimination until two teams remain, with those two teams playing a best-of-three series. The World Series - for the first time in Cedar Rapids, Iowa - begins May 31 and will continue through either June 4 or 5.
