HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Asamoah goal was set up on some great passing by the Lakers early in the second half.
- After Young was freed up down the left side on a pass from Asamoah, he slid a pass in to sophomore Steven Rojas.
- Rojas made a cut inside and gained a step on his defender before being tripped from behind for the penalty.
- Early on, Brockport peppered Laker goalie Brian Terra with three shots on-goal in the first 15 minutes of action, but Terra handled each.
- Oswego got the best chance of the half at 19:35 when Asamoah cut through the defense on the right side and slid a ball to the middle of the field for Omar Espinoza. The sophomore midfielder ripped a shot heading just under the crossbar that Brockport goalie Tautis Poniskaitis managed to tap just over the crossbar.
- Terra was challenged at the 40-minute mark when Brockport released an attacker down the left side who got off a strong shot on-goal, forcing the save.
- Sophomore Slater Bushen had the last chance of the half when he got free down the left side of the Brockport defense and snuck a shot on goal at 43:33.
- The teams were even at shots with eight at the half, with Brockport holding a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
- After the Laker goal, the teams traded possession until the final 10 minutes when Brockport started to play with some urgency.
- The Golden Eagles took a pair of shots wide with under six minutes remaining and got arguably their best chance of the game when a back heel pass looped over the Laker defense just inside the right edge of the box and fell to Brockport's Zach Langelotti.
- Lengelotti ripped a shot on goal that Terra sent over the top of the crossbar.
- Brockport had five corners in the last five minutes, but the Laker defense held strong each time, recording their third-straight shutout and fifth of the season.
- Terra made seven saves in the contest to reach double digits for shutouts in his career (10).
