OSWEGO, N.Y. – A single victory in doubles proved to not be enough as Oswego falls to Houghton College 5-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers fell behind off the bat against the Highlanders, falling in two of three doubles matches. 3-8, 6-8 and 8-4.
- Justin Piotrowski and Ray Paull took home the lone doubles victory for the Lakers, leaving the match 2-1 in favor of Houghton after doubles.
- Anthony Salerno brought the Lakers back to 2-2 after a 6-2, 7-6 victory in first singles.
- Austin Davis went to a tie-breaking set, going 20 points. Davis ultimately fell with the final score reading; 6-4 (W) 0-6 (L) and 9-11 TB (L).
- Justin Schwab and Ethan Bannochie found back-to-back wins in third and fourth singles giving the Lakers their first lead of the day. Â
- Justin Piotrowski in fifth singles had the chance to extend the Lakers lead, but fell in a tiebreaker set.
- With the match tied it came down to Raymond Paull in sixth singles, this faceoff also went into a tiebreaker set for the Lakers, Paull's match read as follows 0-6 (L), 7-6 (W) and 4-10 (L) TB.
- It was a hard fought battle, with three singles matches going into tie breaking sets. Ultimately Houghton College was found in the W column.
