ECWC Release

ITHACA, N.Y. - Eight members of the Oswego State wrestling team have earned Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference (ECWC) All-Academic honors for 2020-21 with seniors Isaac Mathews and Caleb Beach leading the way.  Junior Nicolai Celestain, sophomores Charlie Grygas, Logan Lauck, Colby Harblin, and Daniel Fishman, as well as freshman Anthony Cascen were named to the team additionally for Oswego.  

Recipients of this honor must have a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average or higher (through the last eligible grading period of the current academic year), or have maintained a 3.30-or-better over the past two completed semesters. Normally, wrestlers must also have competed in three separate events during the season in order to gain consideration, but this year coaches were asked to nominate active members of their programs. Freshmen and transfers that have been enrolled full-time for at least one semester are eligible to receive this honor.

Celestain has been on the All-Academic team in each of his three seasons while at Oswego.  Beach and Lauck earned the honor in 2019-20 while Mathews was on the 2018-19 team.
