BROCKPORT, N.Y. –
Kieran Finnegan and
Anthony Van Fossen combined to hold Brockport to a pair of runs as the Oswego State baseball team split a pair of contests at Brockport on Saturday. Oswego won the opener by a score of 7-2 before falling 14-2 in the nightcap.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- Oswego threatened from the get-go when Brendon Frank walked and then stole second in the opening inning. After senior Ryan Enos was hit by a pitch, both advanced when Frank swiped third.
- Brockport was able to get a pair of strikeouts to avoid any damage.
- With one out in the third, Frank again stole second and came home on a single by Paul Tammaro.
- Tammaro was then driven home by a double from Enos, followed by a RBI-double by Ryan Weiss to put Oswego up 3-0.
- The Golden Eagles plated runs in the fourth and sixth innings to cut the lead to 3-2.
- In the eighth, Oswego put runners aboard after Dylan Frawley was plunked and Myles Felton walked. After a forceout at third, Tammaro drove Felton home with a single.
- Enos followed with his second double of the game to bring Tammaro home to extend the lead back to 5-2.
- Felton would double home Frawley and Weiss in the ninth to add some extra insurance.
- Tammaro, Enos and Felton each led Oswego with a pair of hits, while Felton added three walks to reach base in each of his five plate appearances.
- Finnegan (1-0) earned the win with four innings of work, striking out three and allowing the one run. Van Fossen earned the save with five innings of one-run ball, striking out five in the process.
Game 2
- The Lakers struck first in the top of the second on a solo homerun by freshman Jacob Levine.
- Brockport answered back with a pair in the bottom of the inning and then broke the game open with six more runs in the bottom of the third.
- Oswego put up another earned run when Frank Levanti reached when hit by a pitch and then came around to score when Enos reach by error.
- Senior Ronald Loomis (0-1) took the loss for the Lakers giving up six hits and striking out one.
WHAT'S NEXT
The baseball team heads to New Paltz on Tuesday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader with the Hawks.
