Baseball Wins a Pair on Senior Day

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The No. 22 Oswego State baseball team celebrated a successful Senior Day by taking a pair of contests from Plattsburgh by scores of 16-2 and 13-3.  Prior to the contest, Oswego recognized seniors Myles Felton, Kyle Lauria, Dylan Frawley, Mike Di Salvo, Jake Terrill, Jonathan Luppens, Hunter Holliday, Brendon Frank, Ronald Loomis and Connor Stanton.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
  • After a slow start, Oswego scored runs in every inning from the third to the eighth.
  • The Lakers slapped 20 hits in the contest, with shortstop Paul Tammaro and Frawley each getting three to lead the team.
  • Tim Schinto and Frank led Oswego with four and three RBI, respectively.
  • Anthony Van Fossen improved to 4-0 with five innings of scoreless baseball.
  • Terrill and Luppens each pitched two innings of relief, allowing no earned runs.
Game 2
  • Frank had three hits in the nightcap with Tammaro, Lauria and Felton each recording two.
  • Kieran Finnegan pitched four innings, yielding two earned runs, to move to 5-0 on the season.
  • A trio of Lakers (Jacob Sanders, Jake Danyluk, and Richie Paul) combined for the final three innings, striking out four.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego will host Oneonta in the SUNYAC Championship Semifinals on Saturday in a best of three series beginning at 12 p.m. at the Laker Baseball Field.
