OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State swimming & diving teams both were defeated by the Red Dragons of Oneonta this afternoon in their first meet of the 2022-23 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Oswego women won four events in the dual against the Red Dragons including the 200 yard Medley, the 50 Yard Freestyle won by Jayna Laferriere with a time of 26.47.

Maura Moochler came in second place in the 50 Yard Freestyle.

The Lakers took first and second in the Women's 100 Yard Freestyle with Alexia Lemus finishing first with a time of 58.02 and Laferriere finishing with a time of 58.12, this was over two seconds ahead of the third place finisher!

Oswego's Emily Lotito took first place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with nearly a FIVE second time difference between the second place finisher.

Lemus, Anna Baker, Fion Hon and Laferriere took first in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, winning with a split time of exactly three seconds between the next place finisher.

Matt Seyse finished strong in the Men 50 Yard Freestyle, finishing in 23.17 seconds.

Zach Brown took the 200 Yard IM with a best lap time of 26.12 and finished in 2:07.43, this was over SIX seconds in front of the second place finisher.

Brown also won the 100 Yard Backstroke with a margin of just under three seconds compared to the second place finisher of Oneonta.

Raymond Paull won the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:07.51.

Brown, Jack Olsian, Alexander Jenks and Seyse took the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay in a time of 1:31.23.
