OSWEGO, N.Y. – Oswego State Men's Hockey hosted Fredonia in the first game of SUNYAC play. The Lakers defeated the visiting Blue Devils by a score of 4-1

Final Score: Oswego 4 (2-1-0, 1-0-0 SUNYAC), Fredonia (0-3-0, 0-1-0 SUNYAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
 

• The first period featured a flurry of goals started off by Tristan Francis 4:46 into the game.
• Fredonia would come back to even the scoreline at 7:20 of the first period with a goal by Johnny Malandruccolo.
• Oswego answered 42 seconds later with a go-ahead goal by Nolan Barrett.
• With just 2 minutes remaining in the 1st, Nolan Barrett was just able to squeak the puck past the Fredonia goalie to put the Lakers up 3-1 heading into the intermission.
• The second period did not see any action on the scoresheet as the Lakers locked down defensively to keep the scoreline 3-1 through two periods.
• Much of the 3^rd period remained a defensive battle as the Lakers fought to maintain their two-goal lead.
• With 2:14 remaining in the 3^rd period, Tyler Flack was hooked from behind on a breakaway towards an empty Fredonia net and the goal was given to give the Lakers a 4-1 lead and victory.
