Tompkins and Coyle Lead the Lakers to 7th at Utica

Utica, N.Y. - The Women's Track and Field team competed in their second competition of the season at the Utica Holiday Classic. They competed against 12 other teams in a scoring meet. The Lakers would end the day with 37 points which placed them 7th. 

Full Meet Results

On the Track

  • Faith Coyle and Ellie Decker finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 3000m. They combined for 14 points for the Lakers. Coyle's new personal best of 10:53.98 puts her 6th all-time in school history in the event. 
  • Brenna O'Brien in her second collegiate meet would come away with a massive personal best in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 10.16 seconds. She scored 4 points for the Lakers with her 5th place finish and puts herself 9th all-time in school history. 
  • The quartet of Rhiannon Butchko, Joy McClinton, Riley Flynn, Noladia Blum would score 3 points for the Lakers in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:55.61. 
  • Prior to the relay, Blum would take home a personal best in the 300m with a time of 47.92 seconds which placed 7th amongst the field and scored another 2 points for the Lakers. 
  • Cristina Gaskievicz scored points and took home two personal bests in the 800m and mile. Gaskievicz finished 9th in both events. 
  • Sandra Kwasniak would also score in the 300m with her 8th place finish with her personal best performance of 49.20 seconds.
  • Gretchen Dowd ran a personal best in the 5000m which placed her 18th in the event. 
  • Tanasha Brown finished 20th and 25th in the 60m and 200m respectively. 

On the Field 

  • Morgan Tompkins would be the lone winner for the Lakers. She won the High Jump clearing the bar set at 5 ft 1 ¾ inches. Her new personal bests puts her tied for fourth on the all-time list in school history. 
  • Tompkins would continue her strong day of performances with two more personal bests marks in the Long Jump and Triple Jump. She would end up placing 13th and 15th respectively. 
  • Shea Masse placed 33rd in the Shot Put. 
  • Emma Gabriel finished 43rd in the Weight Throw. 

What's Next

The Lakers will rest up and enjoy the holidays before heading out to SUNY Brockport for the Winter Welcome Back Brockport Invite on Saturday January 20th.
