BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Oswego State swimming & diving teams began their final day of SUNYAC competition this evening. Senior Zach Brown broke the conference record in the 200 yard breaststroke this evening, a record that has stood for six years. The women took eighth place for the championships, while the men were able to take fifth place.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The women had two racers in the 1,650 yard freestyle race. Emily Lotito finished in tenth with a time of 19:21.14s, earning seven points for the women. Anna Baker earned one point for her 16th place finish with a time of 20:29.25s.

For the men's 1,650 yard freestyle race, there were three Lakers who earned points for the team. Combining for 25 points were Matt Seyse (8th;17:45.64s), Erick Zizic (9th; 17:46.25s), and Ryan Liedka (12th; 18:08.06s).

In the women's 200 yard backstroke, Fion Hon was the lone Laker who earned points for the team, finishing sixth in the B-final. Hon finished with a time of 2:23.03s, earning three points.

Jayna Laferriere took seventh in the women's 100 yard freestyle A-final. Laferriere finished with a time of 55.12s, earning 12 points. In the B-final, Alexia Lemus took seventh with a time of 57.76s. Lemus earned two points for the team with her finish.

For the men, they had two racers in the B-finals for the 100 yard freestyle. Matt Seyse finished in sixth (49.30s), and Jack Olsian finished in seventh (49.36s). They earned five points for the Lakers with their finishes.

Emily Lotito was the only Laker who qualified for the women's 200 yard breaststroke. Lotitio finished sixth in the A-final, with a time of 2:33.46s. Lotito earned 13 points for the Lakers with her finish.

Taking first in the men's 200 yard breaststroke A-final, setting a new conference record with his finish was Zach Brown, finishing with a time of 2:03.17s. Brown earned 20 points for the team with his first place finish. In the B-final, Nathan Ratta Vine took first, with a time of 2:13.66s, earning nine points. Ray Paull took seventh with a time of 2:17.89s, earning two points.

In the women's 200 yard butterfly, Abby Hinman placed seventh in the B-final, with a time of 2:30.19s, earning two points.

For the final race of the championships for the women, they took eighth place in the 400 yard freestyle relay, earning 22 points for the team. Finishing with a time of 3:51.33s was Jayna Laferriere, Alexia Lemus, Maura Moochler, and Emily Lotito.

In the men's final race, they were able to take fifth in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Earning 28 points with a time of 3:16.44s was Zach Brown, Erick Zizic, Ray Paull, and Matt Seyse.

The Lakers concluded their season this evening, with the men taking fifth in SUNYAC and the women taking eighth place.
