FREDONIA, N.Y. – SUNY Oswego women's basketball was back on the road this weekend with their first stop being in Fredonia, NY. The Lakers got back to their winning ways with a 70-56 win over their host, the Blue Devils.
 
The Lakers opened the game with a three-pointer from Chastin Giles followed by a mid-range jumper from Macey DeOrdio. SUNY Oswego would then turn the ball over 9 times in just the first quarter and entered the second down by three to the Blue Devils. In the second, Logan Castiglione tied the game at fifteen with a three-pointer just two minutes in. Five late points from Karleigh Leo helped the Lakers build a four-point lead heading into halftime.
 
SUNY Oswego came out with serious energy in the second half taking it to the Blue Devils with an eight to zero run. It took Fredonia almost five minutes to score allowing the Lakers to build a lead. The Lakers forced four turnovers from the Blue Devils in the third quarter while shooting well from the field. The rest of the game was all Lakers with SUNY Oswego outscoring their host by a total of ten points in the second half to secure a SUNYAC road win. Macey DeOrdio led the Lakers in scoring with 15 points.
 
Tomorrow, SUNY Oswego to head to Buffalo State for a 1:00 PM SUNYAC tip-off against the Bengals.

Final Score: Oswego 74 (9-5, 5-3 SUNYAC), Fredonia 59 (7-8, 2-6 SUNYAC)
