The Lakers opened the scoring with a kill from Kalley Vugteveen. Grace Gdovin followed with a service ace, and Priscilla McReynolds added another kill, establishing an early lead. Although Oneonta managed to get on the board, McReynolds quickly retaliated with a perfectly placed kill assisted by Mya Bush, bringing the score to 4-1. The Red Dragons began to find their rhythm, responding to Oswego's advances until the score found itself tied at 10 a piece. From that point, the Lakers' offense surged, fueled by strong performances from their hitters. Emily Ziesler, Kalley Vugteveen and Priscilla McReynolds each delivered kills, pushing the score to 16-13 before Oneonta called a timeout. After another kill from the Lakers, the Red Dragons earned three consecutive points to keep the pressure on. Cara Simplicio then contributed her first kill of the set, helping Oswego maintain their momentum. The Lakers continued to be aggressive at the net, with Gdovin and Ziesler each securing a kill, and McReynolds adding two more to clinch the set 25-22.
In the second set, Oneonta made key adjustments to their defense, allowing them to utilize their hitters more effectively, which led to a brief run of three consecutive points. However their momentum faltered as they made several errors at the net and got aced by Kalley Vugteveen's serve to put the Lakers in the lead 6-4. Oneonta called a timeout to regroup, but McReynolds extended the Lakers' lead with two more kills. As the Red Dragons rallied, the Lakers called their first timeout at 10-11. Coming out strong, Lauren Cropp made her mark with a kill and ace, while Vugteveen and Simplicio each contributed a kill, pushing the Lakers ahead 14-11. The momentum shifted firmly in Oswego's favor as they capitalized on an attack error and added three more kills from Ziesler, Simplicio, and Gdovin. Oneonta called their second timeout of the set as the score reached 17-12. The Lakers continued to dominate the court, with Gdovin and Vugteveen adding to their tally with multiple kills. The Red Dragons struggled to keep pace, and the set concluded with kills from Ziesler and setter Mya Bush, followed by another ace from Vugteveen, sealing the set at 25-14 for the Lakers.
The third set mirrored the second, with Oneonta taking an early lead of four points. However, the Lakers quickly found their rhythm, and boosted ahead to 7-6 through a series of powerful kills. Cara Simplicio played a key role, contributing two kills alongside one from Grace Gdovin, allowing Oswego to lead 11-8, prompting a timeout from the Red Dragons. After the break, the teams exchanged points, with Oneonta capitalizing on Lakers' mistakes while Oswego continued to score from Simplicio, who added another kill, and Vugteveen, who contributed two. Emily Ziesler also made her impact felt with a kill and an ace, pushing the score to 16-14. The Red Dragons fought back, scoring their next three points with a kill and two aces, forcing the score to remain tight. Gdovin then contributed two kills which helped Oswego regain a slight advantage at 21-20. Oneonta quickly responded, and with the scoreboard reading 21-22, the Lakers called a timeout to regroup in the high-pressure moment. After Oswego managed to pull ahead 23-22, Oneonta responded with their own timeout. The set intensified as the Red Dragons leveled the score following an Oswego attack error, but a service miss from Oneonta gave the Lakers the chance to serve at 24-23.
