Looking to continue their 6-game winning streak the Lakers came out hot, tallying the first goal and gaining offensive momentum early in the game. A dominant defensive effort and consistent scoring performance throughout the contest would help the Lakers pull away with a 14-4 win over the Wolves and continue their hot streak. Corey O'Connor would lead the scoresheet with 5 goals and Seamus Hand would end the game with a 0.765 save percentage.

HOW IT HAPPENED

From the faceoff the Lakers came out firing shots at Keuka net minder Dylan Hoad. A successful clear attempt by the Wolves would be returned by Oswego at half field. The ball made its way down behind Keuka's net, sophomore Hayden Coney found Corey O'Connor out front where he notched the first goal of the match at 13:12. Another successful faceoff on the following play would send Oswego back on offense. Coney picked up a clutch groundball allowing Max Brodman to lose his defender and assist senior midfielder Liam Sexton for the second goal of the game at 12:16. A pushing penalty 3 minutes later would give the Wolves a turn on offense on which they would capitalize, tallying their first point at 8:52. Despite both teams trading penalties and offensive zonetime, the first quarter would conclude with the score standing at 2-1.

The Lakers would start the second like they finished the 1st, on offense. An intercepted shooting attempt by Oswego would allow the Wolves to transition up the field quickly, giving Keuka Attackman Matt Jermen a prime scoring opportunity. Sophomore goaltender Seamus Hand would deny Jermen's shot and send the Lakers back down the field on offense. Brodman would break the scoreless nature of the beginning minutes with a goal assisted by Connor Aspinall at 12:22. A successful crease roll attempt by Corey O'Connor would find the back of the net just a few minutes later, improving the scoreline to 4-1 at the 9:25 mark. A connected defensive effort from the Lakers would keep Keuka forcing shots from the outside of the zone. Oswego spent the remaining minutes of the half in possession. A slashing penalty by Keuka would give Max Brodman some extra room on offense, leading him to securing his second of the game at 3:06. A nifty shot off a roll dodge from Hayden Coney would be denied, but a shot, just 10 seconds later, from O'Connor would make its way under the stick of Hoad, closing out the half with a score of 6-1 in Oswego's favor.

The halftime break would give the Wolves some time to reconvene after 4 unanswered Laker goals, to which they responded with a goal in the opening minute of third quarter play at 14:20. The following minutes would go scoreless until Matt Bender scored an unassisted goal at 8:40. A dropped ball behind the Keuka net would pull Dylan Hoad out of his crease but would be recovered by Corey O'Connor, giving him an open net for him to tally his fourth goal of the game at the 8:00 mark. The Wolves would maintain possession on offense for a few minutes. After a few saves by Hand and a few missed shots, Keuka's Tre Lloyd was finally able to find the back of the net at 4:20. The Wolves struck once more at 1:41, pushing the score to 8-4. Sophomore Trey Jones would add a ninth goal for the Lakers on a last-ditch scoring effort with just 3.6 remaining on the clock.

Despite their steady 5-goal lead, Oswego did not let up in the beginning minutes of the fourth quarter. A good feed from Emmett Starowizc awarded Hayden Coney his first goal of the game at 14:01. Just over a minute later, Brodman matched O'Connor's scoring reign, notching his 4th goal of contest at the 12:57 mark. This tie wouldn't last long as Corey O'Connor improved the score to 12-4 at 11:19. Trey Jones would continue the unanswered scoring parade with another at 10:03. The Wolves were finally able to break the ball out of their defensive zone, but their possession would not last long as a few changes in the Oswego lineup gave them some extra legs for the final minutes of the quarter. Sophomore defenseman Colton Mahar ran the ball up the field and secured a 14th goal for the Lakers off a bounce shot from the restraining line. Oswego would hold off Keuka for the remaining 5 minutes, pulling out a dominant 14-4 win over the Wolves.
