Rome, N.Y. – The SUNY Oswego men's golf team completed the opening round of the Empire 8 Championships at Teugega Country Club on Sunday, led by solid rounds from Tyce Helmick and Jack Shaw, who both carded 77s to sit tied for 10th overall.

How it Happened:
Helmick and Shaw each finished the day at seven-over par, pacing the Lakers with consistent play across the front and back nines. Sam Ligas followed closely behind with an 81 (+11), while John O'Neill was one stroke back at 82 (+12). Rounding out Oswego's scoring were Justin Alvord and Evan McDonald, who both recorded 85s (+15).

As a team, the Lakers remain within striking distance heading into the second round, looking to build on their steady play and make a push up the leaderboard when action resumes Monday at Teugega Country Club.
