Oswego, NY – SUNY Oswego Men's Golf was back in action for the final time this season for the second day of their annual Spring Invite at the Oswego Country Club. The Lakers walked away with the team championship as well as two second place finishers in Ligas and Waters.

How it Happened:
To begin, a very special thank you to senior
Evan McDonald for your time and dedication to the program.
Oswego (A):
Kevin Waters entered with some momentum carding a 73 (+2) to jump four places on the leaderboard. Waters caught fire late on the front nine with back-to-back birdies and carried that rhythm into the back, posting one of the more complete rounds of the day.
Tyce Helmick had a great day improving on his +7 yesterday to finished with a +2 today on his way to a fourth place finish.
Sam Ligas added a 76 (+5), highlighted by a steady back nine that featured multiple birdies, while maintaining his position near the top of the standings.
Gavin McCarthy turned in an 82 (+11), showing resilience throughout the round, and
Jack Shaw rounded out the lineup with an 83 (+12), improving his standing with a composed effort across both nines.
Oswego (B):
Justin Alvord turned in the standout performance of the day for Oswego's second unit, firing a 73 (+2) to pace the group and surge up the leaderboard. The sophomore's round was defined by steady, controlled play and timely birdies, allowing him to post one of the Lakers' top scores of the day while shaving an impressive 10 strokes off his opening-round total.
Tyler Simonetti followed with an 80 (+9), battling through an up-and-down round but showing clear progress with a four-stroke improvement from day one.
Jacob Petelin also made a notable leap, carding an 82 (+11) with a balanced effort across both nines to better his first-round score by seven strokes.
Evan McDonald added an 84 (+13), grinding through the round with resilience and trimming two strokes off his previous performance.
John O'Neill finished with a 97 (+26), while
Carter Wichelns, competing as an individual, posted a 92 (+21) to round out the Lakers' scores in the final round.
