Oswego, NY- The Oswego State men's and women's tennis teams took to their home courts on Sunday afternoon for a non-conference doubleheader against Daemen University. Despite strong efforts and standout performances on both sides, the Lakers ultimately came up short, with the men falling 5–2 and the women dropping a 7–0 decision.

How It Happened:
On the men's side, Daemen claimed all three doubles points to start the match, but Oswego showed resilience in singles play. Cole Lyons delivered a gritty comeback at No. 2 singles, winning 3–6, 7–5, 6–1. Miguel Garcia followed suit with a three-set victory at No. 4 singles, edging out his opponent 6–4, 2–6, 7–6.
Duncan Baker nearly added another point for the Lakers, taking the first set at No. 6 singles before falling in a close super tiebreak.
The women's team faced a strong Daemen lineup and earned an early highlight at No. 3 doubles, where
Avery Borman and
Ashlyn Feneck claimed a 6–4 victory. In singles play, Borman and
Leah Bell held their ground against tough competition at the top of the lineup, while
Alexis Christian made a strong push at No. 6 singles, forcing a second-set tiebreak before falling 6–0, 7–6. Although the Lakers couldn't secure a singles win, their competitiveness was evident throughout the match.
What's Next:
The Lakers men's and women's tennis teams will not take a break until the spring of 2026 when they resume play.
