ROCHESTER, NY. – The SUNY Oswego men's golf team is off to a strong start at the Nazareth Fall Invitational, holding first place after the opening round at Locust Hill Country Club. The Lakers combined for a team score of +12 (296), putting themselves in prime position heading into the final day of competition.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jack Shaw led the way with a steady round of 73 (+1), carding three birdies and closing strong with an even-par back nine.
Tyce Helmick was close behind, firing a 74 (+2), highlighted by four birdies on holes 2, 9, 16, and 18.
Sam Ligas posted a 75 (+3), grinding through the back nine with consistent pars to keep Oswego's team total low.
John O'Neill finished with a 78 (+6), battling through a tough stretch in the middle of his round but finishing strong. Rounding out the lineup,
Justin Alvord turned in an 83 (+11), with a birdie on 12.
With a four-stroke cushion over the field, the Lakers will look to carry their momentum into the final round as they aim for their second team victory of the fall season.
