OSWEGO, NY - The SUNY Oswego men's golf team was back home hosting their annual spring invite at the Oswego Country Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers were led by Mike Douglas, who fired a steady round of 77 (+6) to pace the squad. Douglas leads all golfers and will be in the final group tomorrow afternoon.
O'Neill finished with a solid round of 79 (+8). He stayed consistent, shooting 41 on the front nine and 38 on the back, highlighted by strong play on the closing holes.
Douglas was remarkably consistent throughout the day, carding 10 pars and avoiding any major mistakes aside from a single bogey stretch around the turn. His strong finish on the back nine, including pars on 16, 17, and 18, helped keep his round together.
Rowen Lynch was next in for Oswego, posting an 81 (+10). Lynch had a strong front nine at 37 and kept grinding on the back despite a few bumps along the way. His par saves on holes 11 and 18 were critical in minimizing the damage.
Evan McDonald and
Tyler Donohue both turned in rounds of 87 (+16) and 88 (+17), respectively. McDonald had a few highlights, including a par on the challenging par-3 11th, while Donohue found some momentum late, closing strong with a par on 18.
Rounding out the team scoring,
Dante Cassella matched Donohue with an 88 (+17). Cassella showed resilience after a tough start, finishing the final three holes with pars to stabilize his round.
Tyler Simonetti followed with an 86 (+15). His round got off to a rough start with an 8 on the first hole but he battled back, posting two birdies, including an impressive 3 on the tough par-4 eighth hole. Despite some struggles on the back nine, Simonetti showed resilience throughout.
Carter Wichelns carded a 90 (+19). His front nine included a few hiccups, notably a 7 on the third hole, but he hung tough with steady play down the stretch. Wichelns matched his back nine score with a 46, showing determination.
Ben Poupore rounded out the group with a 94 (+23). Although it was a tough round, Poupore improved on the back nine, highlighted by a strong finish with a 4 on the 18th hole. His ability to keep battling was commendable.
