OSWEGO, NY - The SUNY Oswego men's golf team tee'd off for the final time this season at the Oswego Country Club Sunday morning. The first group of the tournament was out at 10:30 AM.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Leading the way for Oswego was Mike Douglas, who carded a solid 79 (+8). After a tough start with a double bogey on the first, Mike found his rhythm with consistent pars and a birdie on the 12th to steady his round. His score was good enough to earn him a spot in the playoff starting at the 10^th hole. On the first playoff hole, Douglas defeated his two opponents by one stroke to be the outright individual champion of the tournament!

Dante Cassella and Evan McDonald both turned in strong performances with scores of 78 (+7) and 79 (+8) respectively. Dante opened with a hot front nine 39 and matched it with a back nine 39, highlighted by a brilliant birdie on the 13th. Evan fought hard all day, stringing together clutch pars and saving his round with a strong finish, including a key birdie on the 16th.

Rowen Lynch posted an 84 (+13). Despite a rocky start, Rowen showed flashes of brilliance, especially on the back nine where he carded a steady 38.

Rounding out the first group, Tyler Donohue finished with a 91 (+20). Tyler's highlights included a par save on the 18th to close out his round on a high note.

Adding more depth to Oswego's team performance, John O'Neill fired an 85 (+14), grinding out a strong back nine 41 with clutch pars on 17 and 18.

Carter Wichelns posted an 83 (+12). After a tough front nine, Carter steadied the ship on the back, highlighted by a birdie on the 15th to cap a late rally.

Ben Poupore turned in an 82 (+11), fighting hard all day and showing real consistency with 39s on both the front and back nines.

Tyler Simonetti led the second group with an 81 (+10). Tyler fought through a few early mistakes but played steady on the closing holes, wrapping up the back nine with a strong 39.
